Detailed Description

Old School - New School

A guide to Bouncers - Security and Registered Door Supervisors

Jamie O’Keefe has spent most of his adult life working within different areas of Security through the late 70s, 80s, and 90s. A majority of this time has been spent working the doors of Pub's, Clubs, and Live music venues within the heart of London's night-life. Although his role is now mainly within the education and training of security awareness within the leisure and retail industry. He has also spent much of his time working within some of the seediest back street clubs within London's notorious East End and Soho, dealing with people from all walks of life. Jamie is also a 7th Dan Black belt and Self protection instructor and spent his last few years relaxing from his nights on the door, by writing his first book ‘Dog’s don't Know Kung fu - a guide to female Self Protection.’ This focused on his many years as a Self Protection instructor plus his 28 year study and analysis of the martial arts. He then went on to research and write this book ‘Old School-New School’ which focuses on the changes and evolution of the Bouncers of old, to the modern day Door Supervisors. This book covers the areas of Criminal and Licensing law, drugs, first aid, self protection, fire safety, the councils training requirements, along with many of Jamie’s own personal reflections and thoughts on Bouncers and the role of Door supervisor's. If security within the leisure industry affects you or the safety of the environment within which you work - no matter how remote, you should read this book. It’s a Blueprint for the future of Security!
