The flourishing of the youngest capital of Europe is being marred by a series of violent killings, which Special Crime Unit Detective Erin Hite is reluctant to treat as serially related. Former bodyguard, martial arts expert and fighting instructor Leonardo Carnevali is hired by the police as an edged weapon specialist, in the hope of shedding some light on the murder of the first victim: Mike Gower, SAS close quarter combat instructor and Leonardo’s former mentor. Soon though, two more victims follow: Gareth Hubbard and Darren Evans, both previously involved in bodyguarding and club security business. A common denominator begins to surface and Erin Hite is having to rethink her initial call. The victims’ bodies have been brutally slashed and stabbed and soon all suspicions seem to converge on an experienced knife fighter. Leonardo suddenly becomes both suspect and potential victim and is drawn into a nail-biting finish where a split-second decision can mean the difference between death and survival.
